What's Included in Every Grooming Appointment
A standard session covers the key steps most dogs need to stay clean and comfortable: brush-out, bath, blow-dry, nail trim, ear cleaning, sanitary trim, and paw pad care. Add-ons available at the same visit include teeth brushing, anal gland check, eye trim, foot rounding, and a finishing cologne spritz or bow.
Breed-Specific Haircuts and Styling
Every breed has its own coat requirements, and Ridge Dog Shop's groomers are trained to work within those differences. Whether your dog needs a breed-standard cut or a custom style, the team will assess the coat and make recommendations before clipping begins. Double-coated breeds such as Golden Retrievers and Huskies often benefit from a de-shedding treatment, especially during Virginia's warm spring and summer months when shedding peaks.
De-Shedding Treatments
Dogs with heavy coats can shed year-round throughout a Glen Allen home. De-shedding treatments at Ridge Dog Shop use quality products to remove loose undercoat, reducing shedding and supporting healthier skin. This service is popular for German Shepherds, Bernese Mountain Dogs, and Siberian Huskies.
Walk-In and A La Carte Services
Not every visit requires a full groom. Ridge Dog Shop offers walk-in and a la carte grooming services for pet owners who need a specific service between full appointments. Nail trims are available on a walk-in basis from 10 AM to 4 PM daily, and standalone services such as teeth brushing, paw pad trimming, and ear cleaning can be scheduled without committing to a full package.
How Does the Dog Grooming Process Work?
The process at Ridge Dog Shop is straightforward and designed to be stress-free for pets and owners alike.
